Ex Craft Project: Part I

These are a couple of craft projects previously completed. The work was mostly on stitching aida cloth with DMC threads (in short: cross stitch) and felt craft.

The mini birthday cake. The very first of the felt craft that I had done. Added some beads onto the strawberry to add to its "yummyliciousness".

My second felt piece, a Hello Kitty wallet, made with felt and beaded with nice pearly white and pink beads. HK is my fav character! (this post is especially for dear Ming Ming)

A tiger clock I made with felt....A real clock. Now hanging on the wall in my room.

Ex Craft project: Part II

The colourful world of threads and aida cloths, which have been dearly sewn to my heart since the age of 10.These are the few cross stitch pieces that were "privileged" to be kept as a record by means of photography, in recent years.

A plain pouch which I made for my sis to keep her earphones in, with her name stitched at the bottom.

The other side of the pouch, with my name sewn at the bottom.

Handphone pouch which I made for myself.
Front: Little girl praying.

Back: Little girl with her pet kitten.

A handphone hanger: A purple kitty that I made for my dear mom.

Another hand phone hanger, made for the BF. with his name and zodiac sign, Capricorn.

A chinese pouch pattern with the word "Fu". It was meant to be another hand phone hanger but it was meant as a gift to my dear grandma, so I added the extra bit of "ru yi jie" on top so that she can hang by the bed. The hardest part of the whole stitching was the Chinese character...Didn't know how to go about it at first. Took me quite a while.

A pillow case which I made for the BF as the 2nd anniversary present last year. Only pillow case, pillow not included. So, he had to get it himself. Muahahaha (evil laughter)...

Little ones made from air dry clay

Last week in Spring, I managed to get a packet of air dry clay (gratitude to Grace for paying :P).
It was supposed to be for fridge magnets but I didn't want to make those. Instead, my sis and I make little creatures out of it.
Here are a couple of shots of the after product. Enjoy!

Whole bunch of animals! And even a bunch of puny bananas, can you see?

These 3 are my personal favourites, especially the small worm. Look so innocent and as if saying "Please don't eat me!" repetitively...

My dad liked all the creations. He said that I was very good in making stuff with plasticine or modelling clay when I was young. Said I made a very nice looking snail that he kept till it went missing when we moved house 5 years ago! Haha...

Craft Stash!

Here are some of the yarn stash which I managed to buy and collect over the period of 2 months!

These are the stash I got when I was in KL a few months back.

Yarns that I bought back in home town.

I think my yarn collection is getting bigger, though not "ginormous" YET.

And to think I had these 4 skeins of yarn to start with.

Oh, and I have yet to upload the stash I bought last week. Oh oh...

Random bits..

I have finally got around to blog again. There have been so much in the on-going's list at work.
There are so much things been held from being posted here and so, I thought of to cramp all in this "pictorial blog entry".

Oooo, firstly, my external HD died on me recently due to faulty wire in the enclosure. So, I got myself a new very plain one.

The 3 year old enclosure. Those were the days when I was into the "bling bling and how to zheng your gadgets".

The new enclosure.

And now, back to craft related note!

Here are some amis I made from a month's time back, til now.

This tiny little mo0 mo0 is my latest craft work, made specially for a good friend of mine, Jii Gu! Love those big pair of innocent eyes and that bell hanging down from the neck!

Oops, shaky hands!

Ami "babe".

Ami snail.

Ami squirrel. ( Weird eyes, think this one is a failure)

Ami Mommy Carrot and Little Baby Carrot. Made this for the Mother's Day occasion.

A cup pin cushion for my dear Mom. A quick whipped- up mother's day gift!

And my latest craft work- felt.

Wanted to personalise my room door, and so I deco it with felt alphabets, squid and sea lion. :)

I went to the Spring with dear Gracie last week and spotted this glass deco photo frame. Obviously I didn't do a good work painting it. You can see some areas are unevenly painted. Haha.

My latest Obsession: Amigurumi

Recently, I stumbled upon the Japanese art of crochet called Amigurumi when i was "googling" for craft ideas. Amigurumi is a Japanese word combination of ami, meaning crocheted or knitted and nuigurumi which means stuffed doll. So, in short it is stuffed crocheted or knitted dolls.

It was so interesting that I had to learn all the basics needed to crochet. Luckily, I found hook and needle, a blog with video tutorials for visual learners like me! Since then, I have been doing ami and trying to create my own pattern.

One of the earliest ami piece I did, "Amigurumi Alien" by lion brand. It doesn't look very much like the pattern provided I know. Got a lot of comments like, "Ee, a banana!" or "A corn!".

Love birds, pattern by lion brand.

Ami lamb and mouse keychain, presents for my besties.

Koala bear head keychain, by some pattern I found online.

Little Turtlie, my very own ami pattern.
